Akshay Kumar pays his final respect to filmmaker Anand L Rai’s mother’s funeral, hours after his own mother passes away

Akshay Kumar is currently going through a difficult time as his mother Aruna Bhatia passed away on Wednesday morning. Akshay’s close friend and filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s mother also passed away Wednesday morning.

Filmmaker Anand L Rai’s mother’s funeral and last rites took place at the Oshiwara crematorium. Producer Shailesh Singh visited the filmmaker’s residence to pay his final respects. Akshay who is grieving upon his own mother’s demise also arrived at the Oshiwara crematorium.

On Wednesday, Akshay shared the news of his mother’s demise. Akshay wrote, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti.” The 53-year-old shared this news on his Twitter.

Director Rohit Shetty, actor Riteish Deshmukh, Ramesh Taurani, Karan Kapadia among others attended Aruna Bhatia’s funeral. According to a report in BollywoodLife, Akshay was inconsolable. It further added, “Akshay is very strong. He has seen so much in life. You will never find him weak, forget crying. But seeing him break down and cry like a little child at auntyji’s funeral was heartbreaking.”
