Victim who got hit by Rajat Bedi’s car dies; Cops charge the actor with section 304-A for death by negligence
Rajat Bedi known for his role in the Koi Mil Gaya movie hit a man with his car on Monday. The 39-year-old resident of Mumbai’s D N Nagar was hit by the actor’s car while returning from work. He was in critical condition.
News agency ANI quoted DN Nagar senior police officer Milind Kurde as saying, “Rajat Bedi himself was driving the car and hit a man named Rajesh Dhoot when he was crossing the road last evening. Immediately, the actor got the victim admitted to the nearby, Cooper Hospital, Mumbai.
According to the latest news, the victim died on Tuesday. Cops have added section 304-A of the IPC in his FIR. The section deals with an accused causing death by negligence.
Speaking with Pinkvilla, Sridevi Shetty said, “The guy was drunk, and suddenly came from somewhere. Rajat wasn’t driving rashly. He immediately took him to Cooper Hospital and got his treatment done. Yesterday night they were not getting blood, so Rajat arranged for that too, and was in the hospital till 12:30-1. Rajat’s friend is in the hospital now who is taking care of the medication and the treatment. He had himself informed the police too.”
She further added as per ETimes, “Sadly he passed away. Rajat had been praying for his recovery and Mr Rajesh’s sudden demise has left him shattered. We wish to express our sincere heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and will help them in whatever way possible.”
