Mahindra Boosts Supply of Advanced 4WD Tractors Built for Modern Farming
Mahindra Tractors is preparing for a strong rise in demand for its four-wheel-drive (4WD) tractors as farmers in Maharashtra and beyond push for more technologically advanced, high-performance equipment. The company, India’s No.1 tractor brand and the world’s largest by volume, is expanding availability across its network.
Mahindra’s 4WD tractors in the 20–70 hp bracket span popular models such as the Arjun, Novo, YuvoTech+, Jivo and OJA. Designed and developed in India after extensive testing, the tractors are engineered for rugged use with reinforced axles, larger tyres and enhanced ground clearance to withstand challenging soil conditions and demanding tasks.
By delivering power to all four wheels, Mahindra’s 4WD lineup offers superior grip and traction, enabling uninterrupted operation on wet soils, inclined patches or uneven terrain. The world-class engine technology optimises fuel use, improves engine longevity and reduces tyre wear, leading to lower maintenance costs and minimal downtime.
The tractors also include upgraded ergonomics, better suspension, advanced safety features and simplified controls, helping operators manage heavy loads of 2–3 tonnes while reducing fatigue and improving productivity.
Across India, the acceptance of 4WD tractors is rising fast as farmers recognise global trends and take advantage of government subsidies. Mahindra highlights that although upfront costs are higher than 2WD models, its 4WD tractors deliver better long-term returns due to reliability and fuel efficiency.
Manufactured across six plants—Nagpur, Mumbai, Zaheerabad, Rudrapur, Rajkot and Jaipur—the 4WD portfolio has grown significantly over the past decade. Mahindra backs its tractors with one of India’s largest sales and service networks, affordable spare parts and a 24×7 service line (1800 2100 700) that provides doorstep support across the country.
Mahindra Tractors recently crossed 4 million global sales, reinforcing its leadership across 50+ markets with a robust portfolio of over 300 models.
