Vi accelerates Maharashtra 5G rollout, targets 18 cities by May 2026

Vi is accelerating its 5G rollout in Maharashtra, with services going live in eight cities and expansion planned across 18 cities by May 2026.

The telecom operator has launched 5G services in Kolhapur, Vasai, Nanded, Jalgaon, Satara, Malegaon, Shirdi and Dhule. It plans to extend coverage to Akola, Miraj, Chandrapur, Solapur, Ulhasnagar, Bhiwandi, Ahilyanagar, Goa, Amravati and Latur in the next phase.

The move builds on Vi’s presence in key hubs such as Pune, Nagpur, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The company is prioritising industrial corridors, high data usage centres and emerging urban clusters to drive adoption.

With Maharashtra contributing over 13% to India’s GDP, the expansion is aimed at supporting digital infrastructure across industrial, agricultural and tourism-driven regions.
