“I now have additional responsibilities of managing a family and rushing for work”: Kajal A Kitchlu

Kajal A Kitchlu is certainly set to get into balancing work-life mode. While last year there were speculations about the actress being pregnant, in 2022, the actress and her significant other, Gautam, gave hints through their social media posts about adding a new member to the family. While Kajal is yet to open up about motherhood, in a prior chat she shared her idea of adjusting work and family.

In a chat with BT, she said, “I am glad that today the trend of married actresses or actors who turned mothers, not getting work has changed. Not just in Bollywood, but it has changed across the Indian film industries and even the world. I am happy that people have become more matured to understand that actors are free to make their own, personal choices and that doesn’t represent their professional life at all. Whatever the development in your personal life is, you can still continue to have a job.”

Inquire as to whether being hitched has driven her to get picky over her scripts and she says, “Yes, I am choosy about scripts, but that I have been even before marriage. It’s been quite a while since I have become choosy and picky about the characters I do. Marriage has never been an influence on that.”

Today, there is a pool of actresses who have set an example with regards to balance between work-life in Bollywood. Does Kajal admire somebody from the lot? “No, I don’t have a role model as such. I am pretty much navigating my own way and figuring out what works for me. I have now responsibilities of running a home, managing a family as well as get to work. I am not replicating someone, but pretty much figuring and learning it out all by myself.”
