Deepika Padukone says infidelity in relationships is a ‘deal-breaker’ for her

Actress Deepika Padukone will be seen in ‘Gehraiyaan’, which explores complex relationships, betrayal and infidelity. In a new interview, Deepika Padukone talked about her take on a partner who is cheating on her. The actress expressed that it is a deal-breaker for her.

“It’s a deal-breaker for me. Though I feel like it’s far more complicated than just giving a straightforward answer like ‘Oh it’s a deal-breaker for me’, I think there are so many factors that come into play. Like ‘how much does that relationship mean to you,’ ‘how much are both people willing to work at it,’ ‘was it a mistake’, ‘is it a habit’, I think there’s just so many things that come into play. People make mistakes. A lot of times people make the choices that they do for various reasons,” Deepika had told Curly Tales.

Deepika cheats on her partner in ‘Gehraiyaan’. Notwithstanding, director Shakun Batra had shared that the characters in this movie don’t cheat under the garb of finding true love. He had told BT, “I grew up on regular Bollywood films — Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Kabhi Kabhie. While speaking of infidelity, most of these films revolved around finding a soulmate. Gehraiyaan is different because here characters don’t cheat under the garb of finding true love. In today’s time people are looking at love differently. It’s not about finding the one but giving into what you are feeling at that moment. Affairs can happen because you find someone who helps you find yourself, not because you find your soulmate.”
