Radhika Apte: “I can’t wait to dive right into the madness of a film set, which I absolutely love and live for”

Well known for selecting unconventional subjects and getting into the skin of each and every character that she portrays, Radhika Apte has returned to doing what she does best – acting. The actress is gearing up to start the shoot of her forthcoming project, ‘Vikram Vedha’, which features Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan. She will join the cast next week. Radhika, who spent most of the lockdown period in London, got back to India last week.

Speaking about being back on a set shooting for the movie in the next few days, Radhika says, “I can’t wait to dive right into the madness of a film set, which I absolutely love, and live for. I have been waiting to resume the shoot for Vikram Vedha. It’s a passionate bunch of people who are coming together to create what we believe will be a great portrayal of a phenomenal story.”

Reflecting on her career choices, she says, “It has to be something that excites me. If I find it challenging, I’m very excited to go on sets and work with the people there, whether the director or actors. All these things really matter. Sometimes it is the commercial viability, at other times, it’s the need to work or the money… there are various factors.”

Ask her about working in languages that she doesn’t speak, and she says, “Hindi, Marathi and English are the languages that I speak and understand. It’s very hard to do something in a language that you don’t understand. It’s not about which language is closer to my heart, but I would like to work in languages that I speak.”
