Super subs done the job for Man United

Manchester United defeated Omonia FC in the UEFA Europa League third matchweek on Thursday, 6th October. Manchester United had their second victory in the League on Thursday as they beat Omonia FC by 3-2. Erik ten Hag (Manchester United’s manager) named the strong playing XI for this game knowing they have to play the Premier League game in weekend.

Manchester United started the game off very well but wasn’t able to find the net. Man United had so many chances in the first 45 minutes but they were trailing by 1-0 at the end of the half. Manchester United conceded a goal on the counter attack made by Omonia from the corner. Manchester United did equalise in the second half when English forward Marcus Rashford was brought in to the game for his teammate Jadon Sancho. Rashford did justice to Bruno Fernandes’ wonderful ball from their own half.

The second goal was a great gameplay by Manchester United substitutes namely Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. After Lisandro Martinez gave the ball to Rashford, he flicks it to Martial who took a shot outside the box. Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t find his 700th career goal despite having so many good chances. Cristiano did have an assist in the game which contributes to United’s third goal scored by Marcus Rashford again.
