Centre Clears Laxmi Organic’s Lote Facility of Environmental Violations
The Union government has stated that Laxmi Organic’s chemical unit at Lote Parshuram in Ratnagiri district is complying with all prescribed environmental norms.
Responding to a query in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State for Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh said the Maharashtra State Pollution Control Board has confirmed that the unit’s pollution control infrastructure is fully functional.
“The effluent treatment systems and air pollution control systems are operational. Hazardous waste is stored and disposed of as per statutory procedures. Joint Vigilance Sample results dated November 4, 2025, are within consented standards,” the minister said in a written reply on February 5.
The statement also noted that the facility had secured environmental clearance from the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority, later transferred to Yellowstone Fine Chemicals Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Laxmi Organic Industries. Additional environmental clearance for expansion was granted in 2025.
The minister added that there is no blanket ban on PFAS manufacturing in India, though certain PFAS-linked substances fall under regulatory scrutiny, with two currently under restricted use.
