COEP Partners Vascon Engineers to Launch Construction Innovation Hub

The College of Engineering Pune (COEP) has collaborated with Vascon Engineers Ltd. to establish a Centre of Excellence dedicated to advancing innovation in construction and real estate.

Spread across 18,000 sq. ft. on the COEP campus, the Centre will function as a collaborative platform bringing together developers, architects, EPC companies, engineers, consultants, urban planners, academia and government stakeholders.

The initiative will enable live technology demonstrations, pilot projects, and research partnerships, creating stronger linkages between classroom learning and industry practice.

CREDAI will co-develop part of the facility, while the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) will establish a modern Plumbing Lab within the Centre.

Key focus areas include sustainable materials, prefabrication technologies, robotics, modular construction systems, BIM tools, automation, smart infrastructure, and energy and water management solutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. R. Vasudevan, Founder & Chairman Emeritus, Vascon Engineers Ltd., said, “The Centre of Excellence at COEP reflects our long-standing association with the institution and our focus on building stronger linkages between industry and academia. Focusing on the latest technology in project execution. As construction practices evolve with greater use of technology and data, the Centre will serve as a shared space for learning, testing, and application.”
