If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power: Here are the Top 10 songs from Halsey’s latest music album

Halsey released her fourth studio album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ on August 27, 2021. This album is her follow-up project to her highly successful album ‘Manic’ released in 2020. About the new album, Halsey said “This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth. It happened by accident. I wasn’t trying to make a political record, or a record that was drowning in its own profundity—I was just writing about how I feel. The reason that the album has sort of this horror theme is because this experience, in a way, has its horrors.”

Let’s listen to the top 10 songs from the album.

1.”The Tradition”

It’s all about like exploitation, empowerment, and generational trauma. The best moment in “The Tradition” has to be the hook: “Take what you want, take what you can / Take what you please, don’t give a damn.”

2.”Bells in  Santa Fe”

“Bells in Santa Fe” is legendary. Halsey’s delicate vocals, lead to a tense crescendo — just to abruptly, appropriately, cut them off in the middle of their hymnal chant. All of this is truly temporary.

3.”Easier Than Lying”

This music hits the right punk level. It gives a feeling of cathartic feminist wrath.

4.”Lilith”

Lilith is the fourth track on the album. In this track, Halsey describes in the song how her destructive behavior tends to drive away from everything she loves. She says that she has been down this path for so long that she does not know if turning back is even possible at this point.

5.”Girl Is a Gun”

“Girl is a Gun” is the fifth track on Halsey’s 2021 album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.’ In the song, Halsey seems to be talking about being free of all ties and enjoying her freedom.

6.”You Asked for This”

Halsey sings how she has finally become who she wanted to be and she is not really happy with who she turned out to be in the process. Likely, she knew the risks of going down this path.

7.”Darling”

The song is a sweet lullaby to Halsey’s daughter but can be for anyone who needs to find some peace in their mind.

8.”1121″

“1121” is the eighth track on Halsey’s 2021 album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.’ This song is a beautiful tribute to Halsey’s baby when she found out she was pregnant.

9.”Honey

In this song, Halsey seems to venture into her bisexual side and talk about some erotic adventures with another girl.

10.”Whispers”

Like always, Halsey is keeping it very real. Their song “Whisper” is a slow-burn, beginning with hushed tones and a steady piano—that is, until Halsey, brings out the big guns.
