Imran Khan’s remark “A Donkey Remains A Donkey” goes viral.

Imran Khan, the former Pakistani Prime Minister, is back in the news, but this time for the wrong reasons. Clips of his podcast recording, in which he describes his life in the United Kingdom, are circulating online, but one word in particular has piqued the internet’s interest.

“I was welcomed warmly in the United Kingdom, but I never considered it my home.” First and foremost, I was a Pakistani. A donkey does not become a zebra simply by painting stripes on it. In the now-viral video, Mr Khan is heard stating, “A donkey is a donkey.”

It’s part of a podcast with Junaid Akram, a Pakistani content maker. He relocated from Dubai to Pakistan and manages the Instagram account ganjiswag.

Muzammil Hassan and Talha, two more content developers, were also on the podcast.

Mr Khan’s official YouTube channel has posted the entire video.

Mr Khan was deposed as prime minister on April 10 following a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly, making him the first Pakistani prime minister to be deposed by Parliament in the country’s coup-prone history. After days of controversy, the vote was held after midnight.

Opposition parties formed a coalition and appointed Shehbaz Sharif as Pakistan’s new Prime Minister.

The former cricketer-turned-politician has accused his political opponents of working with the US to install a government in Pakistan. But he offered no convincing evidence, and Washington has categorically denied any foreign meddling.
