More Luxury Rides Coming: Uber Black to Expand Fleet Across India’s Top Cities
Premium ride seekers in India’s metro cities can expect more luxury options on the road, as Uber announced it will double the fleet size of Uber Black by 2026.
Available in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, Uber Black caters to riders who prioritise comfort, top-tier vehicles, and professional drivers. Marketed as the “business class of back seats,” the service is aimed at professionals, frequent flyers, and riders seeking a polished commute experience.
Uber has also introduced dedicated Uber Black Zones at major airports, including Bengaluru Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) and Mumbai Airport (Terminal 2, P6). These premium pickup zones are designed to reduce waiting times and ensure a smoother airport exit in luxury vehicles.
To support the expansion, Uber has invested in Carrum through a Series A round. Carrum, backed by the CarDekho Group, has been a trusted fleet partner for Uber and the investment will help grow its premium vehicle fleet.
Adding convenience, Uber recently launched the Reserve feature for Uber Black in Delhi, allowing riders to pre-book rides from two hours to 90 days in advance.
According to Prabhjeet Singh, the company is witnessing rising demand from riders who value comfort and refined service standards.
Uber also shared that over one million riders in India are subscribed to Uber One, its membership programme offering benefits across multiple mobility options.
