NICMAR Introduces Asset and RMC Management Courses to Address Infra Skills Gap
In response to growing skill shortages in India’s infrastructure sector, NICMAR University, Pune campus, has introduced two specialised postgraduate diploma programmes in Asset and Facilities Management and Ready-Mix Concrete Management.
Reports suggest the asset and facilities management sector could see demand growth of 15–20% by 2030, while the RMC segment is expected to expand at an 8% CAGR from 2023 to 2027, driven by large-scale infrastructure and urban development projects.
The Asset and Facilities Management programme is designed to equip professionals to manage the operational phase of infrastructure assets such as airports, metros, commercial buildings and industrial parks, with a focus on safety, sustainability and lifecycle performance. The Ready-Mix Concrete Management programme targets quality, durability and supply-chain coordination in high-volume construction projects.
Dr Tapash Kumar Ganguli, Director-General (Interim), NICMAR, said, “By consulting with industry partners and practitioners, these two new programmes at NICMAR University, Pune Campus – Asset and Facilities Management and Ready-Mix Concrete Management – have been developed to align training with on-ground requirements. The curriculum emphasises applied learning, case-based instruction and exposure to real-world project environments, reflecting the increasing demand for technically grounded managers rather than purely theoretical qualifications.”
