Pepperfry Bets Big on Pune With India’s First Factory Outlet Launch

Doubling down on Pune’s growing demand for home furniture, Pepperfry has opened its first factory outlet in the country, taking its total store count in the city to six.

The newly launched outlet moves beyond a typical retail setup. Designed as a sofa and living room lounge, it lets customers physically explore different sofa configurations, materials and finishes before making a purchase. The focus is clearly on tactile experience—something online browsing often misses.

Customers can also customise sofas, choosing fabrics and designs that match their home layouts.

The company says the factory outlet format will help bring a wider range of products closer to buyers, while also improving affordability and access.

Commenting on the launch, Ashish Shah, Founder and CEO of Pepperfry, said:
“Pune has been one of our strongest growth markets, and we are excited to introduce our first factory outlet in India with this launch. This is just the beginning — we are aggressively expanding our footprint across geographies to bring Pepperfry closer to our customers. With this new format, we aim to create a more immersive buying experience, where customers can engage with our products — from comfort to fabric and customization — before making a decision.”

Pune’s consistent growth has made it a priority market for Pepperfry, and the company’s latest move reflects its long-term plans to deepen its presence here. The brand continues to push its omnichannel approach, blending physical stores with its online platform.
