Suniel Shetty Defends Ranveer Singh Amidst Don 3 Casting Controversy: A Stand for Artistic Freedom
In the glitzy world of Bollywood, whispers have turned into roars over the recent exit of Ranveer Singh from the much-anticipated film Don 3. Reports suggest that Excel Entertainment is seeking compensation to the tune of ₹45 crore to recover from pre-production losses after Ranveer bid adieu to Farhan Akhtar’s magnum opus. The saga has ignited a fiery debate on the power dynamics within the industry, touching upon legal contracts and the extent of creative liberties.
As tensions rise, the ever-charismatic Suniel Shetty has stepped onto the battlefield, armed with unwavering support for Ranveer Singh. With a voice that commands attention, Shetty challenged the notion of blacklisting, arguing that curbing an artist’s creativity is never the answer.
During a conversation with Times Now about his latest venture, Welcome to the Jungle, Shetty did not mince words. He asserted that no individual or entity possesses the right to stifle an actor’s career. Shetty confidently pointed out the legal folly of such attempts, declaring, “No one can prohibit an actor or art. Nobody has a right to. The Supreme Court will dismiss the matter in a second.” This comes in response to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issuing a non-cooperation notice against Ranveer.
Shetty further waxed lyrical about Ranveer’s invaluable contributions to the industry. “Who are you to ban? Consider that this individual has generated ₹3,500 crore in revenue for the industry. Why do you want to ban him? What precisely are you attempting to achieve by banning something that people want to watch?” he questioned, pointing out the folly of stifling a talent who has brought such prosperity to Bollywood.
With hope, Suniel Shetty expressed his belief that through dialogue, Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh can resolve their differences. In an industry bustling with creativity and dreams, Shetty’s words reverberate as a powerful reminder to protect the freedom of artistic expression.
