Atletico Madrid started off well and they enjoyed the most percentage of possession in the whole game. Despite having a good amount of possession they could only score a single goal and that wasn’t enough for them to earn three points from the game. The first goal of the game came at the very early stage. It was 20 minutes on the clock and Alvaro Morata scored the first goal. Morata who is in a great form this season scored another wonderful goal to put his team ahead in this game.

However that was the only goal scored by Atletico in the game which cost them 2 points. Second half wasn’t much entertaining from both the sides and the goal from Rayo Vallecano came from nowhere. Falcao who is a former Atletico Madrid player scored the equaliser in the 92nd minute to help his team get 1 point.

Atletico Madrid were dominating since the start of the game. The in-form striker Alvaro Morata scored in the 6th minute of the game from a beautiful long ball from Molina. The goal was however then ruled out by VAR as Morata clipped the heel of the Athletic Club’s central defender.

The first half went goalless but the scenario changed in the second half. Antoine Griezmann who has permanently signed for the club from FC Barcelona was starting this game and scored in the 47th minute. This was the first and the last goal of the game which was enough for the visitors to beat host and take three points. Diego Simeone’s side is now at third place in the league, having 19 points and just three behind the league leaders FC Barcelona who will be playing against Real Madrid on Sunday.

There was a clause in the deal agreed by Barcelona and Atletico that though it is a loan deal, if the clubs agree then Atletico can sign them permanently. After seeing a good progress of the French star, Atletico decided to offer him the permanent deal and Griezmann never have doubts on this.

Antoine used to play for Atletico Madrid before and thus he knows the team very well. His career in Barcelona was decent.

“All documents ready for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to complete and announce Antoine Griezmann deal very soon. Final fee: €20m guaranteed plus total €4m add-ons package,” tweeted Fabrizio Romano on his official Twitter handle.

Griezmann did play Atletico’s last game which happened this Saturday against Girona in the La Liga. They won it by 2-1 against Girona.

Real Madrid played well and thus deserved the three points they got from the game. Madrid started the scoring in the 18th minute as forward Rodrygo gave the much wanted lead to the visitors. Real Madrid star midfielder Fede Valverde who is on peak of his form has scored again to double the lead of the visitors. This was Valverde’s third consecutive goal in the league.

Valverde’s goal helped Real Madrid lead Atletico Madrid by 2-0 in the first half. Atletico Madrid did pull one back in the  83rd minute before they were down to 10 men in the stoppage time. Hermoso who scored the goal for Atletico was shown a red card before the final whistle and had to move through the tunnel.

The victory made Real Madrid stay on top again and Carlo Ancelotti’s side is the only European team to win all their games before this International break.

If Real Madrid wins this game then they will be back on top again. Robert Lewandowski scored a brace for Barcelona in the game against Elche FC. The first goal for Barcelona was scored by the former Bayern Munich striker (Robert Lewandowski) in the 34th minute.

Barcelona led Elche in the first half by 2-0 after a good goal scored by the Barcelona forward named Memphis Depay who was rumoured to leave the club this summer. The second half started well for the home side as they scored again in the 48th minute to seal the victory. This victory helped them to have 16 points in the table in 6 games they played so far. Robert Lewandowski was the man of the match for his two wonderful goals.

The player had injuries issue from the very start of the season. After moving to Barcelona, he was suffering from a calf injury. This injury saw him sit out the best part of the start of the season.

However, his return to the field was also short-lived, as only after five appearances for his new club, the player was taken off the field abruptly during a La Liga match against Alaves.

He was admitted to the hospital since he was complaining of chest pain. It was later revealed that he had a heart condition and was advised by the doctors not to partake in any sport.

After this incident, several rumours were floating around that hinted at his early retirement. But Xavi Hernandez, after he was appointed the new boss of Barcelona, turned them down.

On Wednesday, Aguero himself decided to host a press conference to announce his departure from the sport. The 33-year-old said, “My health comes first. Medical staff have told me it’s best to stop playing, and so I’m now leaving Barcelona and retiring from professional football.”

In his long career, Aguero represented only four football clubs around the globe. His longest run came for Manchester City, for whom he played around 390 matches and scored a whopping number of 260 goals. He remains their highest goal scorer to this date.
