Mr Khan was deposed as prime minister on April 10 following a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly, making him the first Pakistani prime minister to be deposed by Parliament in the country’s coup-prone history. After days of controversy, the vote was held after midnight.

Opposition parties formed a coalition and appointed Shehbaz Sharif as Pakistan’s new Prime Minister.

The former cricketer-turned-politician has accused his political opponents of working with the US to install a government in Pakistan. But he offered no convincing evidence, and Washington has categorically denied any foreign meddling.

During a roadshow in Peshawar on Wednesday, questioned whether Pakistan’s nuclear weapons were safe in the hands of what he called “robbers” and “thieves”, referring to the newly elected Shehbaz Sharif regime.

“The conspiracy under which these people were brought to power, I ask my institutions, is our nuclear program which is in their hands, can they protect it?” Khan said.

Addressing the US, Khan at the Peshawar rally said, “America, we don’t need your apology… who are you to forgive us? You are accustomed to these slaves, these Sharifs, these Zardaris.”

“Is the nuclear programme safe in the hands of these robbers, whose money is outside?” Imran Khan further said.

Addressing the country’s institutions again, he said, “Aren’t you putting the safety of Pakistanis in the hands of these thieves, have you no fear of God?”

Rubbishing Khan’s allegations, DG-ISPIR, Gen Iftikhar said “There is no such threat to our nuclear program and we should not bring it up in our political discussions,”.

If Mr Khan loses, he will be the first Prime Minister to be removed through a no-trust vote. Two other Prime Ministers against whom a no-confidence motion was called, resigned before the vote. But Mr Khan had refused to step down, insisting that he would “play till the last ball”.

After the dismissal of the no-trust vote in the Pakistan’s National Assembly against embattled Prime Minister Imran Khan and the subsequent dissolution of the House, the Supreme Court Sunday barred all state institutions from taking any “unconstitutional” steps.

Hours after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan got the National Assembly dissolved, former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed on Sunday said the former cricketer-turned-politician will remain in power for another 15 days. “I met the Prime Minister and I think Imran Khan will remain Prime Minister for 15 more days,” said Rasheed. He also added that Khan was stressing that elections were the right way forward amid the current political turmoil.

Taking to Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said: “Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the nation tonight”.

The National Assembly secretariat issued the order on Wednesday night for the discussion on the no-trust motion for today’s agenda.

Earlier, on Monday, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif tabled the no-confidence motion. With this move, Imran Khan became the third Pakistani PM to face the no-confidence motion.

However, now, according to some latest reports, the trouble in their marriage is because of a third person – Lekha Washington. One report stated that Imran and Lekha were seeing each other for quite a while. The report also said that Lekha’s husband Pablo Chatterji is Imran’s friend. The source has also stated that Imran has started introducing Lekha to his inner circle after his wife moved out.

This has led to problems in Lekha’s marriage too. According to Bollywood Hungama, both families have been shaken by this. Imran Khan has allegedly bought or rented a house near his residence, where he meets Lekha. According to a neighbor, she is seen entering and exiting the building during the wee hours.

Going by certain reports, Imran Khan is currently waiting for the divorce to announce his new relationship.
