According to a report on Boxofficeindia.com, Bunty Aur Babli 2 collected around the ₹2.75 crore net with the numbers also benefiting from the Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday in the North. The report stated that the film’s collections could be less on Saturday. The movie is competing with Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi which has already entered the 200 crore club.

The original Bunty Aur Babli featured Abhishek Bachchan opposite Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan played the role of a cop. Saif Ali Khan has stepped into Abhishek’s role in the new film which has Siddhant and Sharvari playing imposters of the original Bunty and Babli.

The film fails to impress the audience and the reviews aren’t in favor of it. The movie misses the charm as the original where Abhishek and Rani gave a laughter riot. The sequel fails to hit the tickle spot. With the changing times, some jokes fell flat and the audience did miss Abhishek and the iconic “Kajrare”. Nothing can top the original movie. The sequel is a one time watch.

Rani asked Said if he has ever been scammed in life. To which, Said replied, “I’ve been scammed myself, actually. It was all to do with property in Mumbai. So I bought something and they said ‘You will have it in three years’. And I gave them lots of my money, about 70% of what I had earned till that time for this lovely big thing.”

He continued, “I still haven’t got it. I’m gonna get it I hope very soon but now that pandemic.” Rani then asked if it was the house Saif was staying in now to which he replied, “No, no, no. It’s an office space.”

In the current scenario, Saif along with his wife Kareena Kapoor has shifted to a bigger residence. Ahead of the birth of their son Jehangir Ali Khan, they found a new home in Bandra. On the work end, the actor will be seen next in Bunty Aur Babli 2 in which he will play the character of Rakesh Trivedi aka Bunty. In the film, Saif plays the other half of the original con artist titular duo, Bunty, opposite Rani Mukerji’s Babli.h

In the official YRF Youtube video, Rani asks Saif if he remembers how scared they were during their first kiss shot. To which he replies, “I remember how scared you were to do the kissing shot.” He continued with the story, “So, I arrived on set, and you were being extra nice to me that day, and you were saying, ‘How are you? How was the drive? What’s happening?’”. Saif further shared that Rani came up to him and asked him to tell people that he didn’t want to kiss her. As Rani was laughing, Saif continued, “I said, ‘I can’t say that! My boss has told me, so I have to do it.’” He then went ahead and mimicked her expressions during the shot. To which Rani said, “It was very uncomfortable”. Watch the video here:

Bunty and Bubli 2 is helmed by Varun V Sharma, and also features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharwari Wagh. The film is slated for a November 19 release in theatres.  

While discussing, Saif revealed that Kareena is very observant. The host Kapil took this opportunity to talk about how his wife is similar too. As per Hindustan Times, Kapil said “Me and my wife were going through Lokandwala Back Road and I was seated in front seat while Ginni was seated at the back. Suddenly Ginni said, ‘look, look’. When I saw, a woman was jogging and she looked beautiful. I asked, ‘Why what happened?’ She replied, Tumhari miss na ho jaye (You shouldn’t miss the chance)’,” he said, noting that she knows when he’s looking at other women.

Rani felt that such moments are “sweet”, noticing this, Saif asked her if she would do something like that with Aditya. “I wouldn’t need to do it, he would do it anyway,” she said. She further added that it is not wrong to compliment someone who is beautiful. Saif mocked her and said, “Later, you get a little beating for it is absolutely okay”. To which she replied, “If you praise someone that they are beautiful, there’s nothing wrong,”

During the banter, Saif disagreed with Rani about complimenting someone else in front of their wives. He expressed he doesn’t have a choice and said “Very bad. Kaunsi aurat? Koi hai hi nahi (Which woman? There’s no such woman).” The statement didn’t go down well with Rani who then said, “Excuse me!” Saif, in an attempt to save the situation, turned towards her and said, “Yes of course, arre main kaha phas gaya yaar (I am in trouble).” The audience started laughing when they heard this.

Bunty and Bubli 2 will be released on November 19.

While the various looks of the much-awaited film are the talk of the town, one person who is really really happy with the tremendous response is makeup and prosthetic character designer Preetisheel Singh D’souza. The lady who is known for creating transformative looks for actors in numerous films like Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Housefull 4, Haider, Rangoon, Mom, 102 Not Out, Thackeray, Bala and Chhichhore, has once again outdone herself curating various looks for Bunty Aur Babli 2.

“It’s been a roller coaster ride,” quips Preetisheel, who recently also acquired a lot of critical acclaim for the various characters played by Divya Agarwal in the ALTBalaji web series Cartel. “When the pandemic hit, everyone was worried about the pace of the film industry. But the way things are picking up, it’s as if we are rolling at double the speed. And I for one, am not complaining,” she cheerfully adds.

Of course she has all the reason to celebrate. It’s been one of the most momentous years for her. Chhichhore won a National Award for best film, her Tamil action thriller where she curated the look for Southern superstar Vijay broke box-office records, and apart from Bunty Aur Babli 2, she has got yet another huge project in Allu Arjun’s multilingual Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 coming up for release.

For the record, apart from being the No. 1 hair, makeup and prosthetic look designer in Bollywood, she runs India’s premier outfit Da Makeup Lab along with her partner husband Mark D’Souza. The lab’s building is a landmark in the posh Versova locality of Mumbai.
