Tata Group Showcases AI for Grassroots Empowerment at India AI Impact Summit

The Tata Group organised the Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, positioning artificial intelligence as a practical tool for women entrepreneurs from rural India.

A total of 1,553 women from six states participated in the 2.5-hour workshop, completing 4,727 AI-driven tasks under structured mentorship. The initiative was supported by Tata Consultancy Services, which provided hands-on AI training.

Participants were divided into three cohorts based on digital familiarity. Traditional artisans — 447 in number — used AI to generate product designs and marketing visuals for crafts such as Pattachitra, Madhubani and Dokra. Around 940 self-help group members explored AI tools to access government schemes, draft communications and develop marketing materials. Meanwhile, 166 advanced entrepreneurs earning approximately ₹20,000 per month experimented with AI for business growth and skill enhancement.

Each mentor supported five participants, ensuring guided application and real-time assistance.

Aarthi Subramanian, ED & COO, TCS, said, “It’s very heartening to witness thousands of women from across the country participating in the Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program. At Tata Group and TCS, we firmly believe that technological advancement must go hand in hand with the parallel progress of communities. Through the Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program, we are on a journey to encourage and empower thousands of women artisans and entrepreneurs in rural India to harness the power of AI, not just as a tool, but as a force to unlock creativity, expand opportunities, and build sustainable livelihoods. This is our vision of inclusive growth, where technology becomes a bridge to shared prosperity and a stronger, self-sustaining India.”
