Two Women Writers Named for Akashdeep Honour
Two prominent women writers—Mamta Kalia in Hindi and Arambam Ongbi Memchoubi in Manipuri—have been selected for the Akashdeep Award at the Shabd Samman 2025
The honour recognises sustained literary contribution and includes a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, a citation, and a Ganga sculpture.
The announcement also includes Best Work Awards for Hindi books published in 2024, spanning poetry, fiction, non-fiction, translation, and debut writing.
A formal award ceremony will be organised shortly.
