Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival returns to Pune with 19th edition
The Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival (KVIFF) will return to an in-person format for its 19th edition on August 22, 2026, at the Pune International Centre, Pashan. The festival is being hosted by the SL Kirloskar CSR Foundation.
Themed ‘Brought to you by Earth’, this year’s festival aims to encourage citizens to develop a deeper connection with nature and understand the messages conveyed by changing climates and fragile ecosystems.
Kirloskar Vasundhara was established in 2007 to promote environmental awareness through films, discussions and community engagement. The festival moved online following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Arti Kirloskar, Director, SL Kirloskar CSR Foundation, said, “Over the last 18 years, Kirloskar Vasundhara has become a powerful platform for driving environmental awareness and inspiring action through meaningful conversations and impactful storytelling. We are delighted to bring the festival back in an in-person format, allowing audiences to experience its spirit collectively. This year’s theme, ‘Brought to you by Earth’, encourages people to observe, appreciate and protect the environment in their immediate surroundings. We look forward to welcoming students, families, nature enthusiasts and citizens from across Pune.”
The festival will be held on August 21 and 22, with the first day exclusively curated for Kirloskar Group employees and the second day open to the wider community.
The August 22 programme will begin at 9 am with sessions for students from C B Tupe Sadhana Kanya Vidyalay, Loyola High School and St. Joseph High School. The programme will feature short-film screenings, interactive discussions and a theme-based workshop.
The evening programme, from 3 pm to 7:30 pm, will feature ‘Ghungroo’, a folk dance performance by the Melghat tribal community, followed by three environment-related short films and a feature film curated by ALT EFF. A student skit will also be presented, followed by the Vasundhara Sanman and Vasundhara Mitra awards recognising contributions to environmental conservation.
The festival will be open to all on a first-come, first-served basis.
