New app ‘Seller’ launched for Facebook Marketplace users

Facebook Marketplace celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. Initially, it began with users buying and selling through Facebook Groups, but it has since evolved into a platform where 430 million items are listed each month worldwide. For many individuals, this has become a source of side income, a small business opportunity, or even a stable revenue stream. Now, these sellers have access to a dedicated app. The newly launched ‘Seller’ app provides a platform for managing listings, connecting with buyers, and expanding your business. This app is currently available on the App Store for users aged 18 and over in the United States.

How It Works

The Seller app integrates seamlessly with Facebook Marketplace. Your current listings, messages, and selling history are automatically synchronized, and any new listings created in the app will be visible on Marketplace, where numerous buyers are already active. While you can continue to list items directly on Facebook Marketplace, the Seller app offers a focused environment for those who want to enhance and grow their sales efforts.

Features

  • Seller home: This feature highlights tasks requiring your attention, such as items to ship, buyers to contact, and listings that might need price adjustments. It also provides a quick overview of your sales performance.
  • Listing creation: Upload photos and let Meta AI assist by filling in details like the title, description, suggested price, and category. The app also includes a bulk listing feature to streamline the process of creating multiple listings at once.
  • Listing management: You can view, edit, relist, and manage your entire inventory from a single interface.
  • Unified seller inbox: This feature organizes all your buyer communications in one place, with conversations linked to specific listings.
  • Performance insights: Access data regarding views, clicks, message threads, and sold listings to help you price competitively and make more informed decisions about your inventory.

The Seller app is now available on the App Store, and a web version is being tested for sellers who download the app on iOS, with an Android version in the works. This release marks the beginning of an ongoing development process, with plans to refine the app based on feedback from the seller community.
