Uber expands India footprint to 100 more cities with Uber Bike
Uber today announced an expansion into 100 more cities across India, taking its footprint to over 220 cities across the country. The expansion, led by Uber Bike, will extend the company’s mobility services into smaller towns while creating flexible earning opportunities for local drivers.
The expansion spans 18 states and one Union Territory, with Uber Bike operations beginning in cities ranging from Jammu in the north to Tirunelveli in the south, and Silchar in the east to Jamnagar in the west.
According to Uber, the two-wheeler service will provide an affordable option for everyday travel, including short-distance journeys and first- and last-mile connectivity.

The Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines 2025 provide states with a clear path to embrace bike taxis and other new mobility solutions and I urge states to adopt the Guidelines and enable affordable first- and last-mile connectivity for their citizens while boosting livelihood creation at scale. Uber’s partnership with the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyaan reflects the importance of ensuring that growth in mobility goes hand-in-hand with safer roads.”

The company said the expansion builds on the growing role of two-wheelers in India’s everyday mobility. Uber Bike is positioned as an option for navigating traffic congestion, travelling short distances and connecting with public transport.
For drivers, Uber said the service offers access to flexible earning opportunities using an asset many already own.
As part of its Independence Day celebrations, first-time riders across the country can avail themselves of their first Uber ride free for a limited period, subject to terms and conditions.
Uber said Bike is also part of its broader multimodal mobility offering, alongside Auto, cars, airport rides and Intercity, as well as integrations with public transport.
