Late drama in the Stamford Bridge; Chelsea win 2-1
Few days to go for the UEFA Champions League to start and the Premier League side are playing their sixth game of the season ahead of that. Chelsea was against another London side West Ham United on Saturday, 3rd September. Chelsea FC won a game after losing two in a row in the Premier League (2022/23 season).
Chelsea really had a poor start to the new season as they lost to Southampton and Leeds United and drew with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur. This win was their third of the season. The game was played at Chelsea’s home stadium named Stamford Bridge. The fans saw a mighty turnaround in the game as West Ham was winning this but Chelsea took the three points after the final whistle.
West Ham United scored the opening goal of the game in the 62nd minute. On 76th minute, Chelsea’s left-back Ben Chilwell score the equaliser. 12 minutes later, Chelsea’s forward Kai Havertz scored the goal and make the ‘blues’ lead in the game.
West Ham United did equalise in the last minute, but the goal was later overruled by VAR and the scoreline remained 2-1 to Chelsea.
