Asia Cup 2022: Shadab Khan apologizes for the catch dropped in the finals

Sri Lankan cricket team has won the Asia Cup 2022 after they beat Pakistan in the final game on Sunday, 11th September in Dubai International cricket stadium, UAE. It was a memorable game for Sri Lanka. In the game against Pakistan, two Sri Lankan players proved to be the match winner. Bhanuka Rajapaksa who took the team to this massive total in the finals and spin bowler Wanindu Hasaranga who bowled an exceptional over to turn the game around.

Pakistan cricket team started off well with the ball as they dismissed 5 Sri Lankan batters while they were on 58 runs. Bhanuka Rajapaksa played an amazing innings to take Sri Lanka to 170 runs. Pakistani cricketer Shadab Khan dropped Bhanuka Rajapaksa when he was batting on 46 runs. Rajapaksa then scored 71 runs in just 45 balls.

That catch dropped from Shadab proved costly for the Pakistan cricket team and thus he apologized for his mistake on his official Twitter handle.

“Catches win matches. Sorry, I take responsibility for this loss. I let my team down. The entire team tried their best. Congratulations to Sri Lanka,” tweeted Shadab Khan after the final game against Sri Lanka.
