A victory by Italy leaves England relegated
The remainder of this week’s UEFA Nations League games was played on Friday night. On Friday night, England met Euro 2020 champions Italy national football team in the UEFA Nations League. It was a disappointing night for Gareth Southgate’s (England football team manager) side.
England lost to Italy by 1-0 in the 5th game of the season (UEFA Nations League). The English side couldn’t score a single goal in this game. Gareth Southgate’s men were poor against the Euro champions (Italy) and thus deserved to lose. There was just a single goal scored in this game which came from the home side. Italy scored the first and the last goal of the game in the 68th minute. It was a goal from Raspadori.
This was England’s third defeat in this season’s UEFA Nations League. They didn’t won a single game this season with drawing 2 and losing 3. 2 points in 5 games was just not enough to go to the next round and thus they got relegated to tier 2. England however had a better chance to score as they hit 14 shots on goal as compared to Italy’s 10.
