Mohammad Shami tests negative for COVID-19
Indian cricket team pacer Mohammad Shami has been finally tested positive for COVID-19. On Wednesday, 28th September, reports of Mohammad Shami were out. As per reports, Mohammad Shami has tested negative this morning and is no more a COVID-19 patient. Despite the pacer’s negative reports, he is not in the Indian squad for the 3-match T20I series against South Africa.
Indian cricket team will play three T20Is against South Africa starting from Wednesday, 28th September in Thiruvananthapuram. As Shami was tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the Australian series, the bowler wasn’t picked up by BCCI for the South Africa’s series as well.
BCCI has also named replacements for Mohammad Shami and Deepak Hooda who is also not present for this series due to a minor injury. Board of Control for Cricket in India has added Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav, and Shahbaz Ahmed in the Indian squad to face three T20Is against South Africa. Now, Indian pacer Mohammad Shami will be seen as a reserve player in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
