T20 World Cup: Pacers who can replace Jasprit Bumrah in the Indian squad

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed on Monday that the star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup. This was a bad news for Indian fans as they were already disappointed after Jadeja’s absence news. Indian cricket team will be without their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the world cup starting this month.

BCCI was monitoring Bumrah’s situation who got a serious back stress issue. The coach Rahul Dravid and the BCCI president (Sourav Ganguly) believed that Bumrah’s presence in the World Cup was still possible until it was confirmed on Monday that he won’t feature in the tournament. There are also questions circulating whether who will replace Jasprit Bumrah in the Indian squad as the quality he has in his bowling is difficult to find in some other pacer.

Three pacers who can replace Jasprit Bumrah in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup:

1. Mohammad Shami: Mohammad Shami is the very likely option as not only the fans but expert named Wasim Jaffer feels Shami would be best to replace injured Jasprit Bumrah for the world cup. Shami was tested negative for COVID-19 and is fit to play according to recent reports.

2. Mohammed Siraj: BCCI could also name Siraj in the world cup squad as the young pacer replaced injured Jasprit Bumrah in the ongoing South Africa’s T20I series. But Mohammed Siraj’s lack of experience can put doubts on the selectors’ mind.

3. Deepak Chahar: Deepak Chahar could be added in the Indian squad. The pacer has a great record in IPL and can swing the ball very well in the first six overs. However, Deepak Chahar’s injury record is very poor and have no experience bowling in death overs.
