Chelsea midfielder Jorginho to play though pain against Leeds United on Saturday
Chelsea’s woes with injuries have left them rattled in recent times. They are facing some severe issues in their midfield as several players such as N’golo Kante are unavailable for various reasons. One more important player missing from the squad is Jorginho, who has been the spine of Chelsea midfield ever since he joined the blues.
However, considering Chelsea’s recent run of results, Jorginho has decided to push through his injury to play for his club’s Premier League on Saturday. Talking about the player’s decision Tuchel in the press conference before the match, said, “Jorginho completed the last two training sessions. I think he will do again what he did in the last few games he has played – play through the pain and do what needs to be done on the pitch,” reported AFP.
This decision comes after Chelsea’s draw against Zenit, in which they decided to push Reece James to midfield, while Spaniard Saul Niguez started as left-wing. The move backfired big time as Chelsea was left rueing when Zenit equalized in the dying minutes to end the game at 3-3. This result impacted Chelsea’s UCL tally, and they were not able to complete the group stage as table toppers.
Considering their recent run of bad form, Chelsea will be looking to tighten things up in their subsequent Premier League encounter in which they take on Leeds United on Saturday.
