Bengaluru FC coach not perturbed by Chhetri’s goal drought in ISL 2021
The Indian skipper and striker Sunil Chhetri is suffering from a rare dip in form in the ongoing season of ISL. He has failed in the last six games, which has had the fans worried.
Meanwhile, the head coach of Bengaluru FC, Marco Pezzaiouli, calls it a mere hard time for the striker, which too shall pass. The gaffa is not too worried about the rare goal drought for Chhetri.
After Bengaluru’s last loss against FC Goa in the post-match interview, the coach said, “He (Chhetri) is a human being. Sometimes you don’t have luck going for you. With the national team, he had a lot of luck as the ball fell to him many times, and he scored five goals.”
Chhetri has had an abysmal run of form in this season so far. The striker has missed clear chances and failed to convert two penalties as well. Pundits believe that he is getting conscious regarding the milestone of becoming the all-time highest scorer in the history of ISL.
Whatever the reason may be, Chhetri needs to step up to lift his team from the abyss they find themselves in. Bengaluru FC has lost four out of their six games this season and is currently languishing on the 10th spot in the table. They are just 2 points clear of the bottom team East Bengal.
