Arsenal dominate Spurs to win the North London derby
Arsenal FC were up against Tottenham Hotspur in the the first match of the 8th matchweek. Arsenal dominated the whole game and thus deserved to win. The final scoreline of this North London derby was 3-1. Spurs did score one goal but that also came from the penalty spot.
Arsenal FC are intact at the first position in the points table. Arsenal started the game well as they were the one who scored the opening goal. Thomas Partey scored the first goal and gave the deserving lead to the host. Harry Kane did equalise for Tottenham Hotspur in the 31st minute when the visitors were awarded a penalty.
The first-half went equal for both side with a scoreline of 1-1. However Arsenal didn’t take much long to score their second goal. In the 49th minute, newly signed striker Gabriel Jesus scored the goal. Tottenham had a setback in the game as they recieved a red card in the 62nd minute. Tottenham Hotspur’s right-back Emerson Royal made a bad challenge on Jesus and was sent off as soon as the referee saw it. Later, Xhaka scored the winner in the 67th minute and it was all over for Antonio Conte’s men.
