Aston Villa sack Steven Gerrard
Liverpool Legend Steven Gerrard has been sacked as Aston Villa manager on Friday morning following the club’s defeat to Fulham FC on Thursday night in the English Premier League. Aston Villa faced Fulham in the mid-week EPL game. Villa couldn’t score a single goal and they were beaten brutally by Fulham. Following this performance, Aston Villa decided to part ways with the manager Steven Gerrard.
It was another poor performance from Aston Villa’s players. The former Liverpool midfielder (Steven Gerrard) was confident that he will get the team back to where it was last season but the club’s officials and director were not convinced about it and thus they decided to sack him just after the 3-0 defeat against Fulham.
In this game, there was also an own goal scored by Aston Villa which came from the English defender named Tyrone Mings in the 84th minute. As Aston Villa manager, Steven Gerrard recorded 12 wins, 8 draws and 18 losses. Due to a less number of win percentage, Aston Villa didn’t back Steven Gerrard.
Aston Villa are in the 17th position in the English Premier League points table (2022/23) and has just 9 points in 11 games they played this season.
