Barcelona becomes new league leaders as they beat Elche 3-0
FC Barcelona are the new La Liga leaders after they defeated Elche FC on Saturday, 17th September in Camp Nou. The convincing victory over Elche FC took Barcelona to the top of the La liga points atleast for 24 hours as defending champions Real Madrid is yet to play a game in this matchweek. Last season’s Champions League winner will face Atletico Madrid on Sunday, 18th September in the league.
If Real Madrid wins this game then they will be back on top again. Robert Lewandowski scored a brace for Barcelona in the game against Elche FC. The first goal for Barcelona was scored by the former Bayern Munich striker (Robert Lewandowski) in the 34th minute.
Barcelona led Elche in the first half by 2-0 after a good goal scored by the Barcelona forward named Memphis Depay who was rumoured to leave the club this summer. The second half started well for the home side as they scored again in the 48th minute to seal the victory. This victory helped them to have 16 points in the table in 6 games they played so far. Robert Lewandowski was the man of the match for his two wonderful goals.
