Batters did well, but bowlers were not quite there: Rohit Sharma

Australian cricket team defeated Rohit Sharma’s India in the first T20I which was played on Tuesday, 20th September in Mohali. This was not an ideal start to the series by India as they lost to the defending champions of the T20 World Cup. Australian team performance was good especially in the end when Matthew Wade took them to victory.

Rohit Sharma pointed out so many mistakes which was tough to neglect in the game. Rohit Sharma especially pointed Indian pacers who weren’t in the best of their form. Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umesh Yadav, these bowlers gave away a lot of runs. Australian batters accelerated in the death overs where India lacks these days in T20Is.

“I don’t think we bowled well. 200 is a good score to defend, and we didn’t take our chances in the field. It was a great effort from our batters, but bowlers were quite not there,” said skipper Rohit Sharma in the post-match presentation telecasted on Star Sports Network.

The second T20I between India and Australia will be played on 23rd September, Friday. This will be the must-win game for India if they want to remain in the series.
