Chelsea remain winless; drew against RB Salzburg

Chelsea FC were up against RB Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League second matchweek on Wednesday night, 14th September. The game was played at Stamford Bridge (Chelsea’s home stadium). There was a new manager who took charge of Chelsea for the first time. Graham Potter who just signed his contract with Chelsea as their full-time manager was managing his first UEFA Champions League game.

However, the results were not in the favour of the club or the manager. Despite changing the manager, there was not any change in match results for Chelsea FC. Chelsea earned their first points in the new season of Champions League on Wednesday night when they were up against RB Salzburg.

Chelsea FC lost their first Champions League game of the new season when Thomas Tuchel was in-charge against Dinamo Zagreb. Despite scoring first in the game, Chelsea couldn’t hold on to their lead and gave it away in the late second half.

Raheem Sterling scored the first Champions League for Chelsea in this game but it wasn’t enough for the club to earn three points from this game and had to settle it out for a draw. RB Salzburg scored an equaliser in the 75th minute to register their second draw of the season.
