David Warner shares heartfelt message on social media after retention snub by SRH

After the retention snub on Tuesday evening, the Australian opener and former Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper took it to social media to post a message for his fans and teammates at SRH.

On the 30th of November, the eight IPL teams announced the players they have decided to retain for the upcoming season, and David Warner’s absence in the SRH player’s list did not surprise anyone. The left-handed batter’s departure from the team was announced even before the IPL 2021 was over.

After a run of bad form and inconsistent performance with the bat in hand, Warner was removed as the team’s captain and later dropped from the squad altogether in the first phase of the tournament. SRH fans condemned the management for snubbing their title-winning captain. In the second phase, he was brought back into the squad, but the inconsistency continued, which eventually led to him getting sidelined again.

Towards the end of the tournament, Warner was not even seen as part of the team and was absent from the dugout. He even posted photos that sent an explicit message about him not donning the orange color next season. Therefore, when the Sunrisers team did not retain him on Tuesday, it did not surprise anyone.

Although the Australian gentleman posted a picture of his with Kane Williamson and Rashid Khan to thank the SRH team and his fans for their support over the years. David Warner will be the player to watch out for in the upcoming mega auction. Especially after the player of the tournament performance, he put for his national side in the T20 World Cup last month.
