Early second half goals get the job done for Bayern against Barcelona
Bayern Munich was up against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League second matchweek at Allianz Arena on Tuesday night, 13th September. Bayern Munich had a two nil victory against their old rivals. Fans enjoyed every single minute of the game as it was full of entertainment. Both the teams were attacking well.
Xavi’s Barcelona started off very well against the Bundesliga champions. Barcelona were dominating Bayern Munich in the first half and kept taking shots on their goal. Barcelona had three wonderful chances to take the lead in the first half over Bayern but couldn’t make it 1-0. First half was pretty disappointing for the La Liga giants.
It was all different in the second half as Bayern started attacking as soon as the referee blew the whistle. Bayern Munich also scored the opening goal of the game from the corner. Kimmich took the set-piece and it was defender Lucas Hernandez who directed his header well to make it 1-0 for the host.
Bayern Munich didn’t take much time to double their lead as they scored their second four minutes later. This was scored by Leroy Sane who ran from the middle and made an emphatic finish in the end.
