England announces twelve men squad ahead of the Brisbane Test
Taking a leaf out of the book of their adversaries, the English Cricket team has announced their twelve men squad. Released on the official website of the English Cricket Board, the twelve men squad confirmed the comeback of Ben Stokes in the international team.
Stokes was a major missing for England in the past few months. He picked up a finger injury earlier this year, following which he was forced out of the game. The player later also announced an indefinite break from the game, due to which he missed the T20 World Cup. However, now he is back and hopefully fit enough to continue playing.
The squad unsurprisingly left out James Anderson following a calf injury. The team includes four pace bowlers in his absence: Broad, Robinson, Wood and Woakes. It will be interesting to see whom or how many pacers England will play. Jack Leach remains the sole spinner in the squad.
Look at the whole squad announced: Joe Root (c), Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Haseeb Hameed, Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.
The website also read that “the final XI will be confirmed at Toss.”
