Erik ten Hag explains Ronaldo’s absence in the game against Man City

The Manchester Derby was as thrilling as the fans expected. Manchester United were beaten brutally by Manchester City on Sunday. After the game, Man United’s manager Erik ten Hag was asked some questions regarding the game.

Erik ten Hag was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo who didn’t make his appearance in the game. Ronaldo was picked up by the manager in the squad to face Man City but he wasn’t brought out in the pitch. Erik ten Hag did explain why he didn’t give game time to Cristiano Ronaldo in the game against Manchester City.

“I didn’t bring him on out of respect for his big career. And the other thing, there was then the advantage I could bring Antony Martial on. He needs the minutes but I don’t want to point it out like that,” said Erik ten Hag after the game against Manchester City reported by Sky Sports.
