Hasan Ali gets irked by journalist’s question, asks him to not get personal

In the press conference following the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League’s player draft 2022, a heated argument emerged between Pakistani Bowler Hasan Ali and a journalist.

According to the video circulated on the internet, Hasan Ali can be seen irked by a media reporter questioning him. The pace bowler interrupts the media guy and asks for “next question.” This is followed by laughter from all around, but the determined reporter kept repeating that it was inappropriate behaviour from Hasan.

To this, Ali replied, “you (reporter) should write good things on Twitter, and then I’ll give you answers. Ok? You shouldn’t be personal with anyone.” He also added that even if the Pakistan Cricket Board cannot stop them from questioning, the players have some rights too. The tension in the room was eased by the intervention of Islamabad United’s Officials.

Hasan Ali has been in the spotlight of Pakistani media ever since Pakistan was knocked out of T20 World Cup 2021. In the semi-final game between Pakistan and Australia, Hasan dropped a crucial catch which almost immediately turned the match’s tide in Australia’s favour. In the successive three balls, Matthew Wade hit Shaheen Afridi for three sixes to win the game for his team.

Although the bowler had a fabulous outing in the recent series against Bangladesh last month, it does not seem to have redeemed his image in the eyes of his followers and media personals.

In the 2022 Player’s draft, Hasan was retained by Islamabad United. He had a great outing with them in the last season, and the team will be hoping for him to repeat the performance in the coming season as well.
