I would have picked Rishabh Pant in every side: Matthew Hayden

Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden praised Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant. The left-handed batter played some games in the Asia Cup 2022. The former Australian feels that Rishabh cannot be taken out from the playing XI as he plays very well in the middle and can win games with his bat.

Rishabh Pant played well in England when India went for the Test match, ODI, and T20I series there. The wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was in great form after the IPL but currently he can’t find his form again. In recent some games for India, Rishabh Pant hasn’t scored much runs and thus was replaced by Dinesh Karthik in the team.

Matthew Hayden still feels India should be playing him in the team always and needs to be backed by the management.

“Rishabh Pant would be picked in every side if I was the selector. He is just the future. He needs to be backed and needs time. Even if it’s through runs or form, he should be there in my opinion. He is a superior player in pretty much every way and aspect,” Matthew Hayden said on air during the 1st T20I as reported by India Today.
