If I compete with my own teammates then I am letting my country down: Sanju Samson
Indian cricket team batter Sanju Samson opened up about people’s opinions regarding his selection in the upcoming T20 World Cup. The Indian squad has been announced for the world cup and some fans believe it was a wrong choice by BCCI to drop Sanju Samson from this squad.
The Indian batter performed well this year in the blue jersey but still couldn’t find the place in the squad. The T20 World Cup is very near and teams have already started preparations for that. Sanju Samson has recently named as captain of the Indian A team for the upcoming One-day series against New Zealand. The batter wasn’t even picked up by the BCCI and selectors in the reserve players list of the T20 World Cup.
Sanju Samson feels competiting with own players is not good and he won’t do that. He feels doing that will let his country down.
“These days, in media and on social media, there are talks that who will Sanju replace in the Indian playing XI. Will you replace Rishabh Pant or KL Rahul. My thinking is very clear that both KL and Pant play for my own team. If I compete with my own teammates, then I’m letting my country down,” said Sanju Samson on World Cricket channel.
