KKR against RR: Shreyas Iyer compliments Rinku Singh and labels him a valuable future asset

Rinku Singh was praised by Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer for his outstanding performance against Rajasthan Royals on Monday evening, May 2. Singh was the driving force behind Kolkata’s victory in the evening, scoring an unbeaten 42 off just 23 balls. He and Nitish Rana put on a crucial 66-run stand to get Kolkata over the line with five balls to spare.

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said after the game that Rinku’s ability to remain calm in the face of adversity is exceptional, and that he will be a valuable asset to the organisation in the future.

“I was chatting to my teammates in the locker room and was like, the way he keeps his cool even in such high-pressure situations, even in his second or third game, it’s remarkable.” We have to commend Nitish Rana for forming that alliance in that situation, and he’s a valuable addition to the franchise’s future. “He doesn’t look like a newcomer to the team because of the way he has given starts right from the first game,” Iyer added.

Iyer praised the KKR bowling attack, particularly Umesh Yadav, who has been in fantastic form in this season’s Indian Premier League.
