KL Rahul appointed as vice-captain for Test series against South Africa in Rohit’s abcense

The clouds shrouding around the role of vice-captaincy in the Test series have finally cleared. KL Rahul, the newly-appointed vice-captain of India’s limited over the side, is also named the vice-captain for the Test series against South Africa.

This development took place after Rohit Sharma picked up an injury on Monday. According to BCCI, the batter had an old hamstring injury that resurfaced during net practice ahead of the tour, due to which Sharma was ruled out of the Test series. Talking with TOI, a BCCI source said, “yes, with Rohit missing, KL Rahul would be the vice-captain.”

After being sacked as the limit over the captain, this will be Virat Kohli’s first match as the captain of the limited over team. Recently he has been the centre of controversy brewing in the Indian cricketing circuits. Earlier, he came out to answer some tough questions regarding his captaincy; now, his fans and lovers of Indian cricket would love to see him respond with his bat and break the century drought, which has lasted over two years.
