Osasuna end Real Madrid’s 9-game winning streak
Real Madrid were up against Osasuna in the La Liga on Sunday night, 2nd October. Real Madrid players were not up to the mark and thus had to battle it out for a draw in the end. This was Real Madrid’s first game after a long international break. Real Madrid were the only team in Europe who won all their games this season before the International break.
Real Madrid had a 9-game winning streak in all competitions before they played Osasuna on Sunday, 3rd October. Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior scored the opening goal of the game which came in the 42nd minute. The defending champions (Real Madrid) was leading in the first half by 1 goal to nil.
The champion side gave away the lead in the second when Kike Garcia scored the equaliser for Osasuna in the 50th minute. Osasuna’s defender named David Garcia recieved a red card when the challenge was made in the penalty box in the 78th minute.
The French striker Karim Benzema who came back from the injury took the penalty but missed it a minute later. The penalty miss was surely one of the chances for Real Madrid to win this game but they had to settle it for a draw. FC Barcelona are the new league leaders of the La Liga.
