Real win the Madrid derby

Real Madrid won the Madrid derby in the La Liga on Sunday night. Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid by 2-1 in the derby which was played at Metropolitano Stadium (Atletico Madrid home Stadium). Carlo Ancelotti again got past Diego Simeone in the Madrid derby.

Real Madrid played well and thus deserved the three points they got from the game. Madrid started the scoring in the 18th minute as forward Rodrygo gave the much wanted lead to the visitors. Real Madrid star midfielder Fede Valverde who is on peak of his form has scored again to double the lead of the visitors. This was Valverde’s third consecutive goal in the league.

Valverde’s goal helped Real Madrid lead Atletico Madrid by 2-0 in the first half. Atletico Madrid did pull one back in theĀ  83rd minute before they were down to 10 men in the stoppage time. Hermoso who scored the goal for Atletico was shown a red card before the final whistle and had to move through the tunnel.

The victory made Real Madrid stay on top again and Carlo Ancelotti’s side is the only European team to win all their games before this International break.
