Shane Warne feels “bruised and sore” after meeting motorbike accident
Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, was involved in a motorbike accident on Sunday. He is said to have been riding his 300 kg bike with his son Jackson. The father-son duo was out on a road ride in Melbourne and the incident occurred when Warne was returning his bike to the storage.
Warne was not immediately rushed to the hospital, as there were no visible wounds. On Monday, however he woke up with soreness and pain, and was taken to the hospital fearing a broken foot. Doctors turned down the speculation and declared that he had only injured his hip, foot, and ankle.
Sydney Morning Herald quoted News Corp’s statement in which Warne said, “I am a bit battered and bruised and very sore.” Following this incident, his involvement in the Ashes’ series commentary team has come under scrutiny. For now Warne has said that he will be fit by the time to become a part of the commentary team for the tour that starts on December 8.
Australia will take the field against in the first test with a changed complexion and perhaps team as well. Last week Pat Cummins and Steve Smith were named as Captain and Vice-Captain, after Tim Paine stepped down from the role.
