Former Pakistani cricketer named Shoaib Akhtar has opened up about Virat Kohli once again. The former Pakistani pacer feels Virat Kohli should take retirement from the T20I format in order to have a longevity in his career in other formats. Shoaib Akhtar has made a very big statement, which Indian fans wouldn’t like.
Indian fans had witnessed vintage Kohli back in form in T20Is after he scored a magnificent century in the Asia Cup game against Afghanistan. The century Kohli was waiting for 3 years arrived in T20Is. But, Shoaib Akhtar feels the former Indian cricket team captain should take retirement so that he can focus on ODIs and Test cricket more. Some Indian fans on Twitter are not happy with this statement made by Shoaib Akhtar.
“Kohli might just take retirement after the T20 World Cup. He may do that to extend his longevity in the other formats. If I was him, I would have looked at the larger picture and taken a call,” Shoaib Akhtar said in a Live video session hosted by India.com.
Virat Kohli has been picked up in the India’s 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup and it is believed that the batter will continue playing in T20Is further.
