There’s still a lot to be done: Arteta after Arsenal defeat West Ham 2-0

Arsenal is en-route to greater glories in this season. And by defeating West Ham United 2-0 on Wednesday, they reestablished this fact. Jumping two spots on the table, they are now in a Champions League position. However, their coach is not entirely satisfied.

The English football club Arsenal has had a great change in fortune this season. They have made quite a comeback after losing their first three Premier League matches, which sent them languishing on the points table. With the help of a 10-game unbeaten run between September and November, they saw them back in the top-10 and now all they need to do is continue this momentum.

In a post-match meet, Arteta appealed to his players to do better. ‘It’s much better than where we are,’ he said, ‘and we want to be higher… this league is absolutely ruthless. We’ve had some bumps in the road, but I think we have stuck together… we’ve made some progress, but there’s still a lot to do, and we have to be aware of that,” reports Reuters.

This week, Arsenal has been in the spotlight after they dropped their captain Aubameyang from the squad for the weekend game against Southampton. He was then stripped from his leadership role to establish the importance of discipline in the camp.

Everyone thought it would cause havoc in the dressing room, but nothing of that sort has happened. At least their game on the pitch has not been affected. Instead, they have won their last two games with flying colours and sit at the fourth position on the table with 29 points against their name from 17 games.
